Content-Led LinkedIn Lead Generation for B2B Founders

LinkedIn lead generation for founders works best in this order: publish something worth reading, then talk to the people who read it. We build the inbound engine, write the lead magnets that capture people who aren't ready yet, and run warm social selling and Sales Navigator prospecting into buyers who have already seen your name.

  • Inbound conversations from content, tracked from post to meeting
  • A lead magnet a month that captures the people who aren't ready to talk
  • Warm outreach into named accounts, written by people, with no automation

What content-led LinkedIn lead generation for founders means

Content-led lead generation means the content runs first and the outreach runs second, into people who have already encountered you. Posts and a newsletter create recognition. Lead magnets capture the people who are interested but not ready. Outreach then goes to a warm list instead of a cold one.

The alternative, which most LinkedIn lead generation agencies sell, is volume outreach: a large list, an automated sequence, a 1% reply rate, and a founder’s account burning its reputation for a handful of meetings. It produces numbers. It also produces a profile that your market has learned to ignore, which is expensive in a way that doesn’t show up in a monthly report.

We’re not an outbound shop and won’t pretend to be. If you need 200 meetings this quarter and you don’t mind how, hire a specialist outbound agency. If you want a channel that compounds, the content has to come first.

Fit

Who this is for, and who it isn't

Right for you if

  • You're a B2B founder or executive selling something considered, with deal sizes that justify a long cycle
  • You can name your target accounts, or we can define them together in one session
  • You're already publishing, or starting to
  • You'd rather have 12 real conversations a quarter than 200 ignored messages a week
  • Someone on your side can take a meeting within a week of it being booked

Not for you if

  • You want automated sequences and scraped lists. We don't do that work.
  • You want leads this month with no content behind them. Paid channels are faster and we'll say so.
  • You sell something transactional at low value. The economics don't support this.
  • Nobody on your team can follow up. Booked meetings that go unattended are worse than no meetings.

Inbound

Inbound lead generation

Inbound is the half of this that compounds, and the half most agencies can't sell because it takes a quarter to show up.

What we actually do

  • Write content that attracts a buyer, not an audience. Posts aimed at the problem your buyer has this month, not at the topic that performs. LinkedIn ghostwriting produces them; the targeting decision is made here.
  • Catch the signals. Profile views from target accounts, saves, repeat engagers, people who read three posts and never comment. These people are in-market and invisible unless someone is looking.
  • Give interest somewhere to go. A profile that converts a click, a Featured section with a next step, and a pinned post that states the position plainly. Covered on our profile optimization page.
  • Handle the DMs. Inbound replies answered the same working day, qualified, and either booked or politely closed. The slowest-moving part of most founders’ pipelines is their own inbox.
  • Route it. Every inbound conversation logged with the post that started it, handed to your sales team with the thread attached.

What inbound looks like in month three is usually a handful of conversations a month that arrive already warm, where the prospect has read five of your posts and opens with a specific question. Those conversations close at rates cold outreach never reaches.

Lead magnets

Lead magnet creation

A lead magnet captures the 95% of interested readers who aren't going to book a call. Without one, the only options you offer a reader are “book a meeting” or “do nothing”, and most people choose nothing.

What we build

  • The diagnostic. A scored self-assessment against your framework. The highest-converting format we build, because a reader learns something about themselves rather than about you.
  • The teardown or template. The actual artefact you use internally: the checklist, the model, the one-page framework. Specific enough to be useful on its own.
  • The data piece. Benchmarks or survey results from your market. Hardest to produce, most linked to, and the one that earns citations.
  • The deep guide. The long answer to the question your buyers ask on every first call.

How it runs

One magnet a month on The Authority package.

As published on the pricing page: one lead magnet a quarter on The Presence, and one a month on The Authority and The Accelerator.

Each one gets a launch post, a slot in your Featured section, a mention inside the newsletter, and a follow-up sequence for the people who download it.

Our rule: the magnet has to be worth the email on its own. If someone would be annoyed they traded contact details for it, it damages the brand we’re building, and we’d rather write nothing.

Outreach

Social selling and outreach

Outreach works on LinkedIn when the person receiving it already knows your name. That's the entire difference between social selling and cold spam, and it's why we run it downstream of content rather than instead of it.

The warm tiers, in order of priority

  1. People who engaged with your posts. Commented, reacted repeatedly, or viewed your profile after a post. The warmest list you’ll ever have, and almost nobody works it.
  2. People who downloaded a lead magnet. They’ve told you what problem they have.
  3. Named target accounts who’ve seen you. Where engagement management has put you in their feed for weeks before any message arrives.
  4. Genuinely cold named accounts. Last, smallest, and only where the first three are exhausted.

How the messages work

  • Written for one person, referencing the specific thing that connects you to them
  • Short. Two or three sentences, no attachments, no calendar link in the first message
  • No pitch in message one. The goal is a reply, not a meeting.
  • A maximum of two follow-ups, then we stop. People who say no stay on the list as readers, not as targets.
  • Templates approved by you before anything sends.

You keep control of your account. We draft and schedule through an approved tool, or send drafts for you to post; we never need your password.

What we don’t do: automation tools, connection-request blasts, scraped lists, InMail at volume, or anything that would get your account restricted. LinkedIn prohibits automated access, and beyond the rules, a founder’s personal account is not a resource worth burning for a quarterly number.

Prospecting

Sales Navigator prospecting

Sales Navigator is how we turn “our buyers are mid-market finance leaders” into a named list with a reason to act.

What we build

  • The account list. Firmographics plus the qualifiers that actually predict fit for you, which usually aren’t the obvious ones.
  • The buying committee per account. Not just the economic buyer: the person who feels the pain, the person who evaluates, the person who blocks.
  • Trigger-based segments. Saved searches on the events that create a window: a new leader in the relevant function, headcount growth in a specific team, a funding round, a tooling change signalled in a job post.
  • Intent layering. Cross-referenced with who has engaged with your content, so the list is ordered by warmth rather than alphabetically.
  • Monthly refresh. Lists decay fast. People move, triggers expire, and a list you built in January is misleading by April.

Domain-specific lists are part of The Accelerator package.

Accountability

How we measure

Lead generation is the one service where vanity metrics are easiest to hide behind, so the report is deliberately blunt.

  • Baseline, screenshotted in week one. Current inbound volume, current reply rates, and what your team says the channel produces today.
  • Inbound conversations, counted and attributed to the post, issue or magnet that started them.
  • Lead magnet performance. Downloads, and more importantly the job titles of who downloaded. 40 downloads from your buyers beats 400 from students.
  • Outreach reply rate and positive reply rate, reported separately, because a reply saying “no” is still a reply and we won’t hide behind the combined number.
  • Meetings booked, split by source: inbound, magnet, warm outreach, cold.
  • Meetings held and opportunities created, from your team’s side.
  • What we can’t attribute. A real line in the report. A lot of LinkedIn influence surfaces on a call as “I’ve been reading your posts for a while” and no tracking link ever sees it.

Honest read: outbound agencies are better than us at producing meetings in month one. We’re better at producing a channel that still works in year three. If you need both, run them in parallel and keep them on different accounts.

Questions

LinkedIn lead generation FAQs

Thirty minutes, and a straight answer

We look at your last 90 days of posts and your profile before the call, and tell you whether the gap is reach, conversion or follow-up. They need different fixes.

  1. We read your profile first.

Your headline, your About section and your last twenty posts, before we speak. You don't need to prepare anything.

  2. You do most of the talking.

What you sell, who you need in the room, what you've already tried and why it stopped.

  3. You leave with a plan, or a straight no.

If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you on the call and point you somewhere better. We'd rather lose the retainer than take an account we can't make work.
